About this game

Worm In Village is a small third-person adventure game with a simple premise: you’re a worm, you can walk and jump, and your job is to explore a village and the surrounding forest looking for eight hidden stars. It’s part of an ongoing Worm series, and this entry leans into the walking-simulator side of things more than any kind of action game. There’s no combat, no dialogue trees, no story beats to memorize. Just a small world, some hazards to dodge, and a checklist of collectibles tied directly to Steam achievements.

How it plays

You control your worm from a third-person camera, moving and jumping through an open area split between village and forest sections. Scattered across that land are eight stars, and finding all of them is basically the whole game. Getting to them isn’t just a matter of walking over, though: the world is full of rotating platforms and objects, spike traps, moving spike traps, and ball traps that will end your run if you’re careless, and falling into water is an instant kill. A checkpoint system means you’re not restarting from scratch every time a trap catches you, which keeps the pacing closer to “trial and error puzzle box” than “punishing platformer.” It’s a short, focused loop: explore, dodge hazards, grab a star, repeat until all eight (and their matching achievements) are checked off.

Who it’s for

This one’s aimed squarely at people who enjoy quick, low-pressure collectathons and don’t mind a game that doesn’t try to be more than it is. If you like puttering around an open area figuring out how to reach an object past a few environmental hazards, or you’re the type who enjoys knocking out a clean 100% achievement list in an afternoon, this fits that itch. It’s also a reasonable pick if you just want something odd and small to unwind with between bigger games. If you’re looking for narrative depth, varied gameplay systems, or a real challenge curve, this isn’t that game, and it’s not trying to be.

Is it worth it?

For what it is, a compact platforming walking sim built around one clear goal, the value comes down to how much you enjoy that specific loop rather than how much content there is. This isn’t a game you sink dozens of hours into; it’s one you finish in a sitting or two and either enjoyed for what it offered or didn’t. That makes it the kind of low-commitment indie title that’s easiest to appreciate when you pick it up on sale rather than at full price, especially if you’re mainly after the achievements or just curious about the Worm series’ more relaxed side.
