About this game

The Coma has been kicking around as a Korean indie horror darling for a while now, and Recut Deluxe Edition is Devespresso Games going back to fix it up rather than just re-listing the original. You’re Youngho, a high school student who falls asleep studying for finals and wakes up trapped in a version of his school that’s gone completely wrong. There’s a killer loose in the halls, something suicidal happened the night before, and the building itself feels like it’s actively hostile to you. It’s not a jump-scare theme park ride so much as a slow, dread-soaked crawl through a place that should feel familiar and doesn’t anymore.

How it plays

You’re not built for combat here, you’re built for running away and then hiding badly. Youngho gets tired fast, so sprinting away from danger only buys you so much time before you need to duck into a locker or a dark corner and hope the killer loses interest. Sound matters too: footsteps in the distance are basically your early warning system, so you end up playing a lot of this with your ears as much as your eyes.
