Need for Speed Heat is Ghost Games’ take on the classic day/night street racing formula: legit, sanctioned races during the day to earn cash, and illegal underground races at night to earn reputation, with the city’s police force actively hunting you once the sun goes down. It’s less about pure simulation and more about the fantasy of building a dream garage while staying one step ahead of a cop car in your rearview mirror.

How it plays

The core loop splits your time between daytime events, where you race clean for Bank, and nighttime runs, where you race dirty for REP and the police escalate the longer you stay out. That REP and Bank split is the whole hook: you need both currencies to actually build up your car collection and unlock upgrades, so you’re constantly deciding whether to play it safe or push your luck after dark. The Deluxe Edition folds a starter K.S Edition Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X into that loop from the jump, along with three more K.S Edition cars (a BMW i8 Coupe, a Mercedes C63 AMG Coupe, and a Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport) that unlock as your REP level climbs, plus outfits for customizing your character and small boosts to the REP and Bank you earn.
