Little Nightmares III sends two small kids into a sprawling, hostile dreamscape called the Nowhere, and asks you to get them out alive. Supermassive Games, a studio that built its reputation on tense, choice-driven horror, takes over the series here, and the pitch is simple and unnerving: you’re a kid again, everything around you is enormous and wrong, and the only thing keeping you safe is the friend right beside you.

How it plays

You control Low and Alone, best friends who found each other in this nightmare world, and each carries a signature tool that shapes how you solve problems. Low’s bow can hit distant switches, sever ropes, or knock enemies out of the air, while Alone’s wrench is built for smashing barriers, bashing stunned foes, and cranking heavy machinery to life. Neither kid can get very far alone, so the game leans on cooperation: boosting each other onto ledges, covering each other while one works a mechanism, and reading the environment for the odd detail that hints at a solution. You can bring a second player in or hand the other kid to an AI companion, but either way the loop stays the same, a mix of stealthy movement, environmental puzzles, and sudden bursts of running for your life when one of the world’s monstrous Residents notices you. The settings shift as you go, from bone dry ruins to a candy factory crawling with insects to a soaked, rickety funfair, each one adding new hazards and a new flavor of dread.
