About this game

How it plays

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League puts you behind one of four Task Force X members, Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Captain Boomerang, or King Shark, as they’re forced into a mission to take down Superman and the rest of the Justice League after Brainiac turns them against humanity. It’s a third-person action shooter built around a battered, open-world version of Metropolis, with each character getting a distinct way of covering ground, whether that’s gliding, grappling, or just brute-forcing a path through the city. Rocksteady built its name on tight melee combat in the Arkham games, and here that experience shows up reworked into gunplay and traversal instead, with the open world standing in for Gotham’s rooftops. You can go it alone or bring up to three other players along, tackling the same story missions together.

Who it’s for

If you came in hoping for an Arkham-style stealth brawler, this isn’t that game, and it’s worth sitting with that before buying. It’s aimed at people who want a loot-driven, co-op-friendly shooter with DC characters and some genuine personality in the writing, especially if you’ve got friends who want to jump in together. Fans of the Suicide Squad lineup who are curious how Rocksteady reimagines these villains as playable leads will find the most to like here. If you’re strictly after a single-player story on par with the Arkham trilogy, or you’re not interested in shooter mechanics and gear progression, this one is easier to skip.

Is it worth it?

This is squarely a sale pickup for most people rather than a day-one must-have, especially since Rocksteady has kept supporting it after launch with free additions like new playable villains and extra content rolled into the base game. That post-launch support actually matters here: picking it up later means you’re getting more game for the same purchase than early adopters did. If the idea of a co-op shooter through a wrecked Metropolis with this specific cast sounds fun, it’s a reasonable bet once the price comes down, and patient shoppers watching Fanatical are in exactly the right position to grab it that way.
