Deal overview

FarmLife is currently 20% off on Steam — down to $9.59 from $11.99.

This is a modest 20% cut. Unless you want FarmLife now, holding out for a seasonal sale usually pays off.

That works out to $2.40 off the Steam list price of $11.99.

As a recent release, discounts this early are relatively uncommon.

About this game

FarmLife is a single-player farming and life sim that drops the walk-around world entirely. There’s no tractor to steer and no town to wander. You run everything through menus, illustrated dashboards, and event prompts, so the game is really about the decisions behind a farm and the person running it. The hook is that your fields and your personal life grow side by side, and neither one gets to sit still while you tend the other.

How it plays

You start a new life by picking Relaxed, Standard, or Hard difficulty and customizing your character. From there, the farm side is a management loop: plant and harvest crops, raise animals, keep supplies stocked, and put money into equipment. Income has to cover upkeep and loans, and market prices shift, so a good season can be followed by a lean one.

The life side runs in parallel. You can chase a career, build relationships, and make calls about family and housing. Along the way, choice-driven events throw up opportunities, setbacks, and risky bets, and you decide how much to gamble.

The detail that shapes everything is the autosave. Progress saves automatically, so a bad outcome doesn’t get undone with a quick reload. It becomes part of your story. That makes each decision carry some weight, and it nudges you toward playing the consequences rather than gaming around them.

Accessibility gets real attention, too: adjustable text size, dark mode, and high-contrast settings. In a text-driven game, that matters.

Who it’s for

If you like management sims, choose-your-own-path storytelling, or games where money and relationships pull against each other, this is aimed squarely at you. It suits people who enjoy reading, weighing trade-offs, and living with the results at their own pace. The difficulty options help here, since you can keep things gentle or make finances unforgiving.

Skip it if you want to see your farm and move around in it. Anyone hoping for a Stardew-style world to explore will bounce off a menu-based design quickly. It’s also a poor fit if you hate irreversible outcomes and want to save-scum your way out of mistakes.

Is it worth it?

For the right player, the value is in replayability: a different character, a different difficulty, and a different set of choices can send a new life somewhere else. Games like this tend to reward people who are happy to run several lives rather than finish one and move on.

That said, it’s a niche pitch, and the lack of a visible world won’t be for everyone. If the concept already appeals to you, it’s a solid pick, and the sort of title that makes sense to grab when it goes on sale on Steam. If you’re unsure about text-based play, waiting for a discount is the low-risk route.
