Clid The Snail is one of those games that sounds like a joke until you actually see it in motion: a top-down shooter starring an exiled, wisecracking snail who trades his shell for a gun and a grudge. At the center of it all is Clid, cast out of his home and forced to fall in with a ragtag crew of outcasts who task him with hunting down the slug plague spreading across the land. Guns, grenades, and snail shells with their own quirks give you room to experiment against enemies that actually react to how you approach them, rather than just soaking up bullets. Between missions, you return to base to rest up, restock, upgrade your gear, and spend time with the five companions who make up your new found family, each with their own backstory worth digging into.
