About this game

Celeste Blue Wizard Luna is a turn-based JRPG about a rebellion against a magical tyrant. The setting is Jupiterno, a floating continent ruled by Princess Lucia, a “True Wizard” whose power sits on a completely different tier from everyone else’s. When her mood turns dark, she turns brutal. Luna, one of the finest wizards in the land, decides someone has to stand up to her, and she gathers allies to march on the royal capital.

How it plays

This is a classic party-based JRPG, and it plays that way. Combat is turn-based, so you’ll be picking actions for your group and working through fights one round at a time rather than reacting with twitchy reflexes. Between battles you travel an expansive world, visit towns and villages, and push the story forward through conversations with the cast.

The story is the main engine. The game is built for roughly ten hours or more of narrative, and the characters carry much of it. Luna is a gifted academy-trained wizard with a soft spot for her childhood friend Noah. Becky is an axe-wielding housewife from Sheena Village whose marriage is under strain from her husband’s gambling. Lede is a mysterious traveler with a playful manner and a serious search underway. It’s a mix of heroic stakes and small, human wrinkles, and that contrast is probably where the game finds its personality.

The developers come from the doujin scene, and that background tends to mean a project driven by a creator’s own tastes rather than a big-studio checklist.

Who it’s for

Fans of traditional JRPGs will feel at home here. If you like a party of distinct personalities, a clear villain, and combat built on menus and strategy, this is your lane. It also suits players who want a complete story that fits in a handful of evenings instead of a hundred-hour commitment.

If you want real-time action, sprawling open-ended systems, or heavy customization, look elsewhere. Anyone who finds turn-based battles slow will not be converted by this one. Players who don’t enjoy dialogue-heavy storytelling should also skip it, since the narrative is clearly the point.

Is it worth it?

For the right player, a story-driven JRPG of this length is a reasonable use of an evening or two a week for a couple of weeks. It’s an indie release from a small team, so it’s best judged on whether its world and characters grab you rather than on spectacle.

Because it releases on Steam, where sales come around regularly, it’s the sort of game that makes sense to wishlist and pick up when the price drops, especially if you’re still deciding whether the setup appeals. If the premise sounds like your thing, you don’t need to rush. Check the live price on this page and decide from there.
