You drop into the cave with nothing but your wits and whatever weapon you scrounge up first, and the game’s job from that point on is to kill you in a new way every run. Levels are procedurally generated, so you’re never memorizing a layout, you’re reading each screen fresh: where the enemies are, what the terrain does, whether that potion is going to heal you or melt your face off. Combat is the part Deadpan Games clearly cared about most. It’s fast, physical, and a little chaotic, with blood effects that make every fight feel like it actually mattered. Between chunks of the cave you’ll run into a boss, usually something enormous with a health bar that eats the whole screen, and figuring out its pattern is its own little puzzle. Die and you start over, but you’ll come back with a better read on what killed you and a slightly different loadout to try next time. There’s also a daily run for players who want a fair, one-shot challenge that everyone is tackling on the same seed that day.

If you like roguelikes where death is a teacher and not a punishment, this is squarely your kind of game.
