How it plays

10 Second Ninja X is a fast, sharp-edged action puzzle game about clearing out robots before a ten-second timer runs out. Each of its 100 levels drops you into a small arena packed with Captain Greatbeard’s robotic goons, and your job is to slice through all of them as quickly as possible. Hit that window and you earn a three-star rating, which pushes you to replay levels you’ve technically already beaten just to shave off fractions of a second. There are 11 game worlds, each with its own “Marathon Mode” that strings levels together back to back with no breathers, turning the whole thing into a stamina test on top of a reflex test. Between runs you explore Greatbeard’s airship, a retro-styled hub that ties the levels together and hides extra secrets and minigames. Ghost data from your own past attempts (and unlockable hints from other players’ ghosts) gives you something to chase on the tougher stages, and online leaderboards mean the real competition kicks in once you’ve already three-starred everything.

This one’s built for people who like games that punish sloppiness and reward memorization.
