About this game

Star Valor is a solo-developed space RPG that hands you a ship, a starting reputation of exactly nothing, and a procedurally generated galaxy to make something out of. It’s the kind of game where the plot is whatever you decide to do with your afternoon: haul cargo, blow up pirates, become the pirate. Rafael Burgos built and published it alone, which shows in both the rough edges and the surprising depth of systems packed into one game.

How it plays

The loop starts simple and branches fast. You fly around a generated star system doing whatever pays: mining asteroids for raw materials, running trade routes, picking up missions, salvaging wrecked ships, or hunting bounties on wanted pirates. Combat is real-time dogfighting, and it scales from one-on-one skirmishes to bigger fleet engagements once you can afford more than a single fighter. Everything you earn feeds back into your ship and your character. Materials get turned into custom weapons at a crafting bench, credits buy new hulls and equipment, and experience unlocks skill points you spend on the abilities that fit how you actually play, whether that’s a gunslinger build, a trader who avoids fights, or something in between. Faction reputation matters too: side with a group and you gain allies and enemies accordingly, or skip the politics entirely and stay independent. Once your ship outgrows a one-person crew, you start hiring people to run turrets and keep things running, which changes how battles play out.

This one’s built for players who like systems more than scripted moments, the sort who enjoy space sims like Freelancer or Rebel Galaxy and don’t mind a UI that prioritizes function over polish.
