25% off is a solid mid-range price. If you can wait, IRON NEST: Heavy Turret Simulator has historically gone lower during seasonal sales.

That works out to $5.00 off the Steam list price of $19.99.

This matches the lowest price we have tracked ($14.99).

As a recent release, discounts this early are relatively uncommon.

About this game

IRON NEST: Heavy Turret Simulator puts you inside the control room of a single, absurdly massive piece of artillery and asks you to run it by hand, one lever and one dial at a time. It’s a dieselpunk war machine, all rivets and gauges and creaking steel, and the hook is simple: nobody else pulls the trigger for you. Orders come in over the wire, but what actually happens on the other end of the shell is entirely on you.

How it plays

The loop centers on reading incoming information and turning it into a firing solution. Two teleprinters feed you messages, one carrying top-priority directives from High Command and the other relaying whatever the frontline is shouting about in the moment, and you’re expected to weigh both before committing a shot. A tactical map ties it together: you can mark targets, pull aerial photos to see what your last barrage actually did, and watch the terrain visibly scar as the fighting drags on. From there it’s hands-on mechanical work. You crank the ballistic calculator, match elevation wheel settings to the correct propellant charge, and haul on the traverse lever to swing the turret toward its target, a process the game treats as genuinely slow since you’re moving thousands of tons of iron. Ammunition choice matters too: armor-piercing rounds for hardened positions, smoke to cover a retreat, and other shell types for uglier jobs the game doesn’t shy away from hinting at. Get the numbers wrong and the shot goes wide. Get them right and you feel the whole structure kick as the round leaves the barrel.

Who it’s for

This is built for people who like simulators where the friction is the point, the crowd that enjoys truck sims, flight sims with full startup checklists, or anything that rewards patience over reflexes. If dialing in coordinates and waiting on a calculator sounds satisfying rather than tedious, this is your kind of game. If you want fast-paced combat with constant feedback and forgiving controls, it’s going to feel slow and fiddly, because that deliberate pace is the whole design, not a flaw to route around.

Is it worth it?

For the audience that actually wants a heavy-machinery power fantasy played straight, with real weight behind every action, this scratches an itch very few games bother to reach for. It’s a niche simulator rather than a broad action game, so it’s the kind of thing that’s easiest to justify picking up when it’s discounted rather than at full price on day one. If you already know you like this specific flavor of slow, mechanical, high-stakes control, it’s a solid pickup on sale. If artillery and simulation aren’t genres you gravitate toward, no discount is going to change that calculus.
