About this game

Cyberline Racing takes the arcade racer and drops a machine gun on the hood. This is a post-apocalyptic death race where finishing first matters less than finishing at all, and every opponent on the track is just as willing to blow up your car as beat you to the line. It’s a small, indie take on combat racing, but it commits fully to the bit.

How it plays

You’re racing to survive, not just to place well. Cyberline Corp runs the show, a shadowy organization using these races as cover to field-test weapons, and you’re one of the poor souls forced to compete against 15 named rivals, each with their own backstory and grudge. The loop is straightforward: race across a variety of ruined landscapes, from cyberpunk slums to snowbound mountains to volcanic wastes, while armed with guns, lasers, and other hardware mounted right onto your car. You can win by simply outdriving people, or you can just as easily ram, shoot, and detonate your way past them. Between races you sink your winnings into a growing garage of combat vehicles, upgrading armor and weaponry so you can survive the next batch of lunatics gunning for you. There’s also an online mode with leaderboards if you want to see how your best times and kills stack up against other players.

If you grew up on Twisted Metal or Carmageddon and miss that specific flavor of vehicular mayhem, this is squarely aimed at you.
