About this game

Stealth Bastard Deluxe is what you get when someone takes the slow, patient stealth genre and asks why it can’t move faster. Curve Studios built this as a 2D stealth-platformer where hiding in shadows matters just as much as split-second reflexes, and the result feels less like Metal Gear Solid and more like a puzzle-platformer that punishes you the instant a guard spots you. There’s no combat to fall back on here. You’ve got no weapons, no armor, nothing but timing and the ability to read a room before it kills you.

How it plays

The loop is simple to describe and hard to master: get from the start of a level to the exit without ever standing in the light. Security robots patrol each stage, and dynamic lighting casts real shadows you have to read on the fly, ducking into darkness the same way you’d duck behind cover in a shooter. Getting seen means dying instantly, so there’s no room for sloppy platforming or half-committed jumps. Across the campaign’s eight worlds and eighty levels, the game leans harder into tricky jumps, timing puzzles, and laser mazes than into traditional sneaking, and it hands you tools like a Camo Suit, decoys, a sonic decoy, an antilight, and teleporters to bend the rules of a level in your favor. Levels also hide secrets that unlock extra content, which gives you a reason to slow down occasionally even though the whole game is built around not doing that.
