Super Treasure Arena drops up to four players onto tight, top-down maps and gives everyone the same simple job: grab coins, hold onto them, and take them from whoever else is holding them. You pick from five characters (Warrior, Rogue, Mage, Mystic, Ninja), each with a special ability that changes how you’d rather approach a fight, and then you’re loose on one of six maps dealing with monsters and rival players at the same time. Weapons like bows, staffs, bombs, and rockets spawn around the arena, so a lot of the tension comes from deciding whether to detour for a better gun or just rush the guy who’s currently rich. There are two modes to work through: Classic, which is straightforward coin collecting and coin stealing, and Treasure Run, where you’re hauling a loot-filled chest back to base while everyone else tries to stop you. It supports split-screen locally, online play, AI bots, or any combination of those, so a full match doesn’t require four separate people with four separate copies.

Who it’s for

This is a couch multiplayer game first and an online game second.
