The Metro Redux Bundle packages both 4A Games’ Metro 2033 and its follow-up into one collection, rebuilt on the studio’s later engine tech so the two games actually feel like they belong together. It’s a survival horror shooter set beneath a nuked Moscow, where the last of humanity huddles in subway tunnels while Artyom gets dragged into a mission that starts as a warning run and turns into something much bigger. How it plays

You spend a lot of time managing scarcity: ammunition doubles as currency in the Metro’s makeshift economy, and your gas mask becomes a ticking clock the moment you step above ground into the irradiated wasteland. Combat swings between tense stealth against human factions and outright panic when mutants start closing in from the dark. The Redux version carries over the improved AI, movement, and weapon handling from the sequel, so the original 2033 no longer feels like the rougher, older game in the pair. There’s also a choice between a more forgiving playstyle and Ranger Mode, which strips away UI hand-holding and makes every encounter feel a lot more dangerous. Exploration matters too. Poking around the tunnels for supplies and listening to the way NPCs talk about life underground does as much to build the world as the shooting does.

This is for players who like their shooters moody and a little punishing, the kind of person who enjoyed STALKER or Metro’s own sequels and wants atmosphere over spectacle. If you like tight resource management and don’t mind slowing down to actually look at a room before clearing it, you’ll be right at home.
